Street Re-Striping Project Begins Wednesday, March 1, 2023

The City has contracted with an outside company to re-stripe intersections and streets in the downtown area, starting today (March 1, 2023).

All lanes of traffic should be open during the re-striping with the exception of a few turn lanes at the intersections when they are painting the turn arrows.

**The first four areas of this project are:

INTERSECTIONS:
🔸“A” Street and 1st Street
🔸“A” Street and 2nd Street
🔸“A” Street and 3rd Street

ROADWAY SEGMENTS:

🔸“A” Street between the TSU Railroad and 3rd Street
🔸1st Street between “A” Street and Aquarium Place,
🔸2nd Street between “A” Street and Aquarium Place
🔸3rd Street between “A” Street and Aquarium Place
🔸4th Street between “A” Street and Aquarium Place

When second phase of this project begins, we will alert the public of which areas will be re-striped.

The overall length of the project is four months. As with all construction, this schedule is weather dependent.

Thank you for your patience as crews improve safety on our roads!

March 24, 2023 11:29 AM

This Sunday, March 26th, an outside contractor will restripe the pavement on Main Street, from 1st Street to 3rd Street.  Traffic will be impacted from 8:30am to approximately 6:30pm on the 26th.

During this pavement restriping, westbound traffic will diverted off of Main Street and eastbound traffic will be allowed to continue through this area.  Barricades will be in place to help keep vehicle traffic diverted.

The contractor will restripe the pavement in two phases.   Phase 1, they will restripe the north half of Main Street and in Phase 2, they will restripe the south half.

Please expect some traffic delays during this road improvement. Thank you for your patience as crews work!
