1ST STREET IMPROVEMENT (AQUARIUM PLACE TO AQUARIUM DRIVE)
Funded through Jenks Vision Funds
Project Overview: Engineering design has been initiated to construct street and drainage improvements on 1st Street from Aquarium Place south to Aquarium Drive.
UPDATE (10/05/2022) - The pre-work meeting for overlay project will be 10/13/2022 and the Notice to Proceed date for construction will be 10/24/2022.
UPDATE (08/10/2022) - Staff has advertised the overlay project for bidding and bids will be opened on August 16, 2022.
UPDATE (06/05/2022): Staff began design work for a mill and overlay on 1st Street from Aquarium Place to Aquarium Drive.
106TH STREET EXTENSION (ELM STREET TO LEWIS AVENUE) Design
Funded through 2020 G.O. Bond Issue
UPDATE (5/17/2023) - The sub-consultant has completed field geotechnical investigations and is preparing the geotechnical report.
UPDATE (05/01/2023)- Consultant is working with Tulsa Engineering and Planning to create a Conditional Letter of map Revision (CLOMR) for FEMA for the roadway alignment through the regulatory floodway.
UPDATE (08/10/2022) - Survey work is currently in progress and should be completed in September 2022.
121ST STREET OVERLAY PROJECT (ELWOOD AVENUE TO ELM STREET) - COMPLETED
Project Overview: 121st Street, from Elwood to Elm, had 2 inches of asphalt overlay applied and new paint striping.
UPDATE (06/05/2022) - The Contractor completed the mill and overlay, along with paint striping, at the end of April 2022.
7TH STREET IMPROVEMENT (AQUARIUM PLACE TO AQUARIUM DRIVE)
Funded through Jenks Vision Funds
Project Overview: Engineering design has been initiated to construct street, sidewalk, and drainage improvements on 7th Street from Aquarium Place south to Aquarium Drive.
UPDATE (10/05/2022) - The pre-work meeting for overlay project and the Notice to Proceed construction date will be 10/07/2022.
UPDATE (08/10/2022)- Staff has advertised the overlay project for bidding and bids will be opened on August 19, 2022.
UPDATE (06/05/2022): Staff began design work for a mill and overlay on 7th Street from Aquarium Place to Aquarium Drive.
AQUARIUM PLACE MILL AND OVERLAY PROJECT (ELM STREET TO AQUARIUM DRIVE)
Federally Funded Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act
Project Overview: This project will consist of milling and overlaying 2 inches of asphalt on Aquarium Place and widen the intersection at Elm Street.
UPDATE (05/01/2023) - Mill and Overlay completed. Jenks Public Works finishing some of the patch work to complete the project.
UPDATE - (01/18/2023) - Staff has submitted 90% plans to ODOT and waiting for ODOT to schedule review meeting.
UPDATE (06/05/2022) - Once the recently obtained survey has been incorporated into the design, a review meeting will be set up with ODOT.
ELWOOD AVENUE IMPROVEMENT (MAIN STREET TO 111TH STREET)
Funded through 2013 G.O. Bond Issue and ODOT Project JP30160
Project Overview: This project will construct an improved 2-lane street with shoulders between Main Street and 111th Street and add a trail on the east side of the roadway.
UPDATE (06/20/2023)-
- ODOT is conducting their internal review on the 90% plans.
- ONG relocate their facilities which will require an agreement for reimbursement.
- Phillips 66 will abandon facilities in the project boundaries.
- All other utilities should be out of the project boundaries.
UPDATE (10/05/2022) - Oklahoma Turnpike Authority will submit the right-of-way acquisition documents to their Board for approval on 10/25/2022.
UPDATE (08/10/2022) - The survey has begun and geotechnical field services are complete.
UPDATE (06/05/2022)- The design is 90% complete and most of the right-of-way has been acquired.
ELWOOD AVENUE IMPROVEMENT (91ST TO 96TH STREET)
UPDATE (10/18/2023) - Staff has provided review comments to the consultant on the preliminary design drawings.
FOX RUN PAVEMENT REPAIR - COMPLETED
UPDATE (05/30/2023) - The construction is complete in Fox Run Addition.
UPDATE (5/02/2023) - The contractor has completed patching 8 of the 10 streets in the project.
UPDATE (01/18/2023) - The contractor has completed some of the concrete for the patches on 115th Street and 114th Court.
UPDATE (10/05/2022) - The concrete pavement repair project for Fun Run Addition will be advertised on 10/07/2022 and bids will be opened on 10/08/2022.
GLENWOOD SOUTH PAVEMENT PATCHING
PROJECT OVERVIEW: Patch areas of S. Franklin Avenue, W. 1115th Place, and S. Emerson Place in the Glenwood South Addition.
UPDATE (08/14/2023) - Glenwood South Pavement Patching will advertise for bidding on August 25th and bids will be opened on September 19, 2023.
MAIN STREET BRIDGE (OVER ARKANSAS RIVER) PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
UPDATE (08/14.2023) - The contractor has mobilized to the site and should begin waterline work on Birch Street soon.
UPDATE (06/20/2023) - Staff is going through the design consultant selection process.
UPDATE (03/23/2023) - ODOT has provided an agreement for this project which will be presented at next City Council meeting on 04/18/2023.
MAIN STREET IMPROVEMENT (DATE STREET EAST TO TSU RAILROAD)
Funded through 2020 G.O. Bond Issue and ODOT Project JP31550
Project Overview: The concept of this project is to improve the existing 3-lane configuration of Main Street and add curbing, drainage and landscaping to this portion of downtown. In addition, Birch Street will be improved with a sidewalk, curbing and storm sewer from Main Street to Veterans Park Drive.
UPDATE (06/20/2023) -
- A pre-work meeting was held on June 15.
- The contractor plans on starting on July 15 with the downstream storm sewer work on Birch Street and at Veterans Park.
- The contractor will stage equipment and material at City-owned property southeast of Main Street and Birch Street until the developer begins work at that site.
UPDATE (05/10/2023) - Cox Communications are moving their lines off the old poles and onto new poles within next month.
UPDATE (08/10/2022) - Staff working with ODOT and the design consultant to modify plans in the area southeast of Main Street and Birch Street. Staff will seek to remove some improvements from the City project that the prospective developer of this area will install as part of their project.
UPDATE (06/05/2022)- The design is nearing 100% complete, most of the right-of-way has been acquired and utility relocation should begin June 16th (weather permitting).
SLATE CREEK, WOOD LAKE, COUNTRY WOODS, COUNTRY WOODS II, COUNTRY HOLLOW, SOUTHWOODS PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS
UPDATE (05/01/2023) - The crack sealing has completed the inspection for the bridge spans extending over land. Based on their findings of this portion of the bridge they will open bridge to pedestrian traffic until April 16 and complete bridge inspection using a snooper truck and drone which will speed up the inspection and allow the bridge to be open for pedestrians longer than expected during the inspection.
UPDATE (01/18/2023) - The pavement rehabilitation project for the six additions listed above will be advertised for bidding on January 27th.
SOUTH ELM STREET IMPROVEMENTS (111TH STREET TO 131ST STREET)
Project Overview: The concept of this project is to expand Elm Street to 5 lanes from 111th Street to approximately 125th Street South and transition to 5 lanes to 131st Street. A pedestrian trail will be included along with the 5-lane segment.
UPDATE (05/01/2023)- PSO should be done moving services on the north mile in the next 2-3 weeks. Cox Communications and AT&T will need to move their services to the new poles before the old poles can be removed.
UPDATE (10/05/2022) - Consultant has submitted Final Plans for review.
UPDATE (06/05/2022) - Right-of-way acquisition is underway and utility relocation plans are being coordinated with the design engineers and the utility companies. Consultant to modify roadway alignment on the south mile of the project by moving it west between the two intersections at 121st Street and 131st Street. ONG has begun utility relocation on the north mile. AT&T will conduct their relocation which will only be in the south mile once right-of-way has been acquired.
SUMMIT VIEW PAVEMENT PAVEMENT REHABILITATION
PROJECT OVERVIEW: Repair concrete streets in the Summit View Residential Addition.
UPDATE (08/14/2023) - Summit View Pavement Rehabilitation will advertise for bidding on September 1, 2023 and bids will be opened on September 26, 2023.
