City & School Approve Plans for Downtown Park
“This is an exciting development for downtown Jenks,” Jenks Chamber president Josh Driskell said. “This green space will provide residents, businesses, students and teachers a place to gather, to play, to listen to music and more right off of Main Street.”
Last year, chamber staff orchestrated the Central Parklet, a temporary three-day park on Second Street north of Main to the alley. Positive community response to the parklet helped guide policy discussions.
The next step is for the proposal to be presented before Tulsa County’s Vision 2025 board for approval. According to city staff, that will take place in November.
To make up for lost parking, the city will pave new lots north of the Rock Gym and at First and A Street.
