Jenks Fire Department Push Ceremony

Dec 05, 2018

The Jenks Fire Department is holding a Push Ceremony for their newly arrived fire truck on Friday, December 7th at 2pm at Station 2 (location on invitation).

The history of the Push Ceremony starts when Fire Engines were pulled by horses.  The horses were unable to walk backwards and "push" fire engines back into the firehouse, so the firefighters manually pushed the trucks into thier buildings.  It is now a tradition to welcome any new fire truck with a Push Ceremony, which signals that a truck is officially part of the Fire house and ready for service.

Jenks Fire and Rescue and the City of Jenks welcomes the publi to come watch this ceremony and see the new fire truck!
